Last week was the Fourth of July, which meant we had a 3 day weekend.
Sekou has been wanting to visit the New Museum, so we decided to make an impromptu family date there.
Both of us didn’t think to go on our phones for 2 minutes and look at what exhibits were on display, so upon arrival we were told that there were only 2 exhibits opened. I hate going to museums and not getting the full experience, but family dates are always great so it’s still a win.
I felt like since we couldn’t get the full experience we had to find another museum to go to, and to our surprise, the International Center of Photography museum was right across the street. Unfortunately I still wasn’t completely satisfied, as much as I love taking pictures there so much more to photography, and perhaps, I just don’t understand most of it.
Before we drove off to head back to Brooklyn we noticed the Soho Contemporary Art Gallery , and decided to take a look. This was actually my first gallery I’ve been to, and I think we need to adding some to our list, loved it here.
It was a great day nonetheless.
We also planned to go to Coney Island during the weekend, but once we got there and seen how crowded it was we decided to just go for some ice cream, which ended up being dinner, and then ice cream. So we ended our three day weekend with an ice cream date, and this might have been Alani’s first time having ice cream, and of course she loved it.
when is the next 3 day weekend again?! Ha, thanks for stopping by folks.

Dinner at Jordan’s Lobster Dock
I love that you’re able to get all creative with your ice cream at Cold stone. I literally get the same thing every time; Strawberry ice cream, with strawberries and red velvet cake. I could never get tired of it!
Be sure look out for an email in regards to lovedemitra’s next mommy and me meet up.
Have a great week.
