I am very particular about what my daughter consumes. For me that means freshly organic and natural fruits, veggies, meats, beans, etc. During pregnancy I made a commitment to myself that I was only going to breastfeed, and have her eat freshly homemade pureed foods. Too bad I didn’t keep my commitment with breastfeeding, or maybe I should say breastfeeding didn’t commit with me (that’s a post for another day), so I felt like I had to make up for not breast feeding even more.
I started my daughter with solids when her Dr. gave us the okay at 4 months. We started her on organic brown rice, and did the 4 day rule to see if she had any reaction. We then tried banana’s, but after the 4 day rule we notice that her bowels were a little on the harder side. So we decided to hold off on the bananas for a while. We then went on and tried her on a variety of foods throughout the weeks, such as oatmeal, apple, sweet potato, avocados, eggs, butternut squash, string beans, pears, etc, and let me just add she loves them all until this day. We continued to follow the 4 day rule, and haven’t had any issues with any of the foods.
I’ve been shopping at my local Food co-op for her since she started eating solids, and yesterday I finally became a member (I’m moving on up), this means more discounts, special, and much more for me. Check out their website and their store whenever you get a chance.
Many times I have to call my mom to get her advice.
