Welcome to motherhood Omi

Omi55

It’s always refreshing to know that your close friend is having a baby, just around the same time as your little one.

One of my close friends just welcomed her precious baby girl the other day, and I am ecstatic to know that Alani is going to have a close friend just months apart (This means LOTS of play dates)

Omi and I have been friends since we were 11 years old (whew time flies).

To know that we are embarking on a new chapter in our lives as parents, at the same time is overwhelmingly exciting.

Every time someone tells me they’re pregnant I try to refrain from overwhelming them with advice (I know how annoying that can be)

But Omi, if I could give you any advice in the world I will tell you, do it your way, learn as you go, and your way is JUST fine, you won’t be perfect, but you’ll get through, don’t be too prideful to ask for help, babygirl will still think you’re superwoman:).

Everyone has their theory on how things should work, or what they did back in the 80’s (Just remind them that those times have changed, and they’re long gone).

People will tell you how to do this, “you’re doing this wrong”, “back in the days we did this”, “oh you new mothers these days”, “stop holding her so much, she’s going to be so spoiled”

I had one of my old teachers tell me a joke for those people”Please tell me more about how you raised your kids to take care of themselves by 3 months old?!” Lol

Omi, it is perfectly fine on how they did things back then, but your way i’m sure will be perfect for you and your family (and that is all that matters).

Speak your mind whenever you have to (even though I know you wont have any issues doing that), and remember to breath and take it easy.

Omi, you’re going to be a phenomenal mother like the rest of us new mothers, motherhood is truly an amazing experience, so soak in the moment.

Take LOTS of pictures, and videos.

when they said they grow too fast, they didn’t lie about that part.

I Love You, and always here for advice when needed.

Kisses to you and babygirl, From Alani and I.

What’s some advice you’d give to your friends who are becoming mothers?

Demi your an Amazing heart! And I cant tell you enough how much I admire you as a Mom. Going through the notions as a new Mom is always nerve racking but one thing is for certain; there is no better love than the one I have for my daughter.! Thank you so much for your warm welcome into Motherhood; I appreciate it.

    Love you Always,
    Omi 💖
