Are mommies allowed to have girls night sans babies?
Since becoming a mother I don’t like going out if I can’t have my daughter in tow .
But last night, it was a good friend (also, Sekou’s cousin) Birthday, so a group of us went to celebrate her birthday at dinner (Sekou missed yet another event, due to a business trip, is it over yet?!!).
Before leaving for our late dinner, I made sure I put baby girl to sleep. I have a rule for myself; to put the baby to sleep before I go out so I’m still the last person she’ll seenwhen she goes to bed, and first person when she wakes up.
But since my daughter has what has to be a sensor for when mommy is not in her bed, she woke up just before I was leaving out, like “hey mom where do you think you’re going?”.
Since we were already running late, I had to get going, and I felt so bad not putting her to sleep before I left (damn you baby sensor).
But since mommy almost never goes out without her baby, I knew baby girl wouldn’t be mad (plus she told me so:) .
Im glad I was able to celebrate Doni’s birthday with her, she seemed to have had a great night!
Happy Birthday Doni!

I know, i’m working on balance. Right now i’m so obsessed with her, and it’s all about her.

It is important to maintain yourself as you raise your child. You should have date nights & girl nights. Need a good balance. We love our children & do everything for them. But when they grow up you have to be able to still love being you without them.
