Pipilotti Rist Exhibit

November 28, 2016 | Leave a Comment

Yesterday we took a family trip to the New Museum again. The last time we went we didn’t get to enjoy the full experience, because a lot of the exhibits were closed, but you can see that post here. However, this time around we were able to enjoy it all from exhibit to exhibit.

They’re currently showing Pipilotti Rist: Pixel Forrest exhibit, this is one of the popular exhibits they’re showing, hence why the wait was about 25 minutes to get in. I’d suggest going during the week to possibly beat the crowd. Although there was a line, Rist’s Kaleidoscopic color display is so beautiful, and it was well worth the wait

Don’t ever say i’ve never looked out for you guys, Rist’s exhibit is over January 15th, 2017, so go visit, even if you’re not that into museums, this visit will be worthwhile.

Kristel’s Goal Party

November 21, 2016 | 1 Comment

dsc_1072

I know I know the blog has been a little dry lately. Sometimes I just don’t have the motivation or inspiration to post, and that’s why the blog has been Idle. However, the inspiration and motivation I needed came right from my friend (Kristel) goal party yesterday.

It was just a group of ladies with big dreams, and aspirations, that came together shared what our goals are, things we need to improve; we also shared advice, and, just so much stuff for me to list.

For me; My goals are to love, to travel, to make sure that anything I set forth to do that it is done with 100% love. When I started this blog I just wanted to be me, and inspire other mothers out there like myself, to enjoy life. Because you had a child doesn’t mean your life is over, for me it just got better, so I want to continue to inspire others with this blog of mine. I also want to read more, because like I said yesterday, I’ve been reading a lot more books these past few months, and I feel like I’ve learned so much more reading than I have in any educational setting (I’ll share the books I’ve read in a blog post soon).

One of the top things on my list for improvement is to start asking for help. I am one person that never ask for help, however I’m not superwoman (although I really believe I am sometimes), and I cannot do everything myself. Have you ever heard that quote “If you want something done right you have to do it yourself”? well I should be the face of that quote, because I took that and ran with it, literally. For me, when I have a vision in my head (Because there’s always one), I have to do it myself, because only I know exactly how I want it to be, this comes to my controlling ways that I also need to improve. If its not done my way it isn’t right, but I guess if the centerpiece isn’t center it isn’t such a big deal right?!

There are so many things on my list of goals, and improvements, that this blog post would turn into an essay, so I’ll stop here. What are your goals, and what are things you need to improve on?

Thank you Kristel for hosting such a great party, and can’t wait for the future parties.

Looking at these picture’s crack me up, LaLa is really a character.

She’s like mommy we’ll take this picture on my time, okay.

All of that just to get this decent picture

Alani’s November Favorites

November 3, 2016 | 2 Comments

img_0640

Alani really loves reading at nighttime, she literally knows after bedtime is reading time, unless she’s super tired and knocks out right out the bath.

For the past few weeks we’ve had the same books in rotation. Good Night Daddy and Good Night Mommy, Alani literally doesn’t want to read one without reading the other, how sweet of her right?! Both of these books are so beautiful, it’s about children spending their entire day with their parent, from breakfast, enjoying adventures together, and ending the day reading a bedtime story, and saying “Good Night Daddy” “Good Night Mommy”; we love it.

We also recently added “I Love you Americanly” to our night time reads for the past couple of weeks. I absolutely love this book, and how it shows you the beautiful things about America. I absolutely love all of Melanie Hope Greenberg’s illustrations, what I love the most is that there’s always so much culture diversity. While reading this book to Alani, it made me add a few places to our list to visit.

I recommend all three of these books, also check out Mealnie Hope Greenberg other books. I really like “Mermaids on Parade” on her website here.

Here’s a list of Alani’s current favorites, and links if you want to buy them for your little ones.

  1. “Good Night Daddy” By: Adam Gamble, and Mark Jasper
  2. “Good Night Mommy” Adam Gamble, and Mark Jasper
  3. “I Love You Americanly” By: Lynn Parrish Sutton Illustrated by: Melanie Hope Greenberg
