Sekou’s Birthday Celebration

It’s crazy to think that Sekou and I have known each other since were just 9 years old. We’ve literally seen each other grow from many different stages.

We’ve remained friends first before anything, which is why we probably have a great foundation, but like any relationship of course we fuss we fight, but we love hard.

Anywho, we celebrated Sekou’s Birthday last week, and it’s safe to say he enjoyed his day. Also, if you didn’t get a chance to wish him a Happy Birthday, feel free to tell him now!!

Life Lately

I feel like I haven’t been spending much time over here on my little space on the internet.

I feel like I’ve been busy, and super tired over the past couple of weeks. As a family we’re embarking on new adventures which I’m so excited about. Moving on your own with your own little family can be scary and exciting, for me it’s been both but more exciting. I’m just so thankful for our village we have, the support is everything and more.

Also, I’m just about 3 months in working out consistently, and boy has it been a challenge. I’m still working on eating healthier, but I’m getting there. I just love what working out does to the mind, body and soul. It’s crazy what the body can do once you put your mind to it. It’s also amazing seeing your body change right before your eyes. It really shows when you put in work, work hard and stay consistent results are inevitable, and because of that in implementing this in my daily life, whatever it may be that I’m working on.

I’m in a good space, and looking to stay here forever. I’m just so happy to have summer grace us with her presence as I’ve been patiently waiting. So here’s to the great weather, summer bodies, museum trips, mommy meet ups, and just great times.

Lovedemitra’s 8th Mommy and Me Meet Up is here

The next mommy meet up is here, and I’m so excited to announce that The Brooklyn Children’s Museum will be sponsoring our visit for 10 families (1 parent and 1 child) to their new annex location called The SPARK located in the Dumbo area of Brooklyn.

I only have a few slots left as I gave those who are subscribed to my blog first dibs. if you would like to join us be sure to email me with both your child and your name at Lovedemitrablog@gmail.com.

I will grant the free admission to the first 5 parents who RSVP. Also, if you will like to bring an additional child, it will be $15 per child.

Happy Father’s Day

I just want to start this post of with how grateful I am for all the father/father figures out there. Thankful for the fathers who didn’t have a father figure growing up, but broke the cycle, thankful for the fathers who fathered children who weren’t biologically theirs, thankful for the fathers taking it one day at a time, and learning new things daily. I appreciate you.

I am so thankful for my dad. Growing up you never really know how your parents make things happen, as a kid you just knew that they were superheroes and whatever you needed/wanted you got. My dad was/is that and more. My siblings and I never needed for anything; tangibly or mentally. My father was always teaching us life lessons for as long as I can remember, educational lessons, financial, family, you name it. My father is a man of giving and loving, he always instilled in my siblings and I to love each other, to love others and if you have and others need, help those in need. I can go on and on why my dad is amazing and why the bar is set so high, but we get the Point.

I am just so grateful to have found a partner who shares so many qualities as my dad. When they say you choose mates like your parents it’s so true, and so creepy, But with a dad like hers; Alani is on her way to greatness, and it’s so exciting to see her blossom, and learn life lessons from her father.

So, Thank You to My dad, Alani’s Dad, and to Sekous dad for mirroring how to be a great dad. Also thank you to all of the fathers out there instilling life lessons, and memories in your children, trust me those last a lifetime, and the kids will forever remember. I love You.
