Mommy Diaries
Yesterday we visited Prospect Park. I recently learned of the Rose Garden in Prospect Park, and how the park is working on restoring this area of the park with their Connective Project. They’re also celebrating 150 years. I don’t think I’ve ever been or even heard of Prospect Park ever having an installation, and this is like my local park, so you know we had to go and support.
It’s such a beautiful area, it’s really like a hidden gem. Ive been to prospect park hundreds of times, and I’ve never come across this section. The 7,000 yellow pinwheel installation was such a good idea to drive attention to this area.
Make sure you guys go and visit if you’re in the neighborhood. This installment is only on view for a week. The last day to visit is July 17th. You can even make your own pinwheel too on certain days, check out Connective Project for more information. Bring a blanket and food if you want to make it more exciting.
Thanks for stopping by, check out our photos, and leave a comment below.
The entire area is filled with pinwheels, it’s even more beautiful when the wind starts blowing.
When the scenery forces you into a photo shoot
When you’re always taking pictures, and your daughter says she wants a turn too (Thanks To my nephew for the assistance)
My God brother Gavin & I
My nephew really takes the best pictures. I love that she’s at the age where we can have real conversations now.
Hey Jordan
Love that my nephews still enjoy hanging out with me
I wasn’t going to post this picture because I love it so much, but it’s just so damn hilarious. My poses aren’t even this fancy.
Also, don’t worry about not being able to find this hidden gem. There is a trail that leads you straight there.
If you all visit this installment let me know if you enjoyed it.
Mama had a night out with the family, and It was well needed. I remember taking a shower saying you gotta hurry up before LaLa comes bursting through the bathroom door, and just waiting for her to do so. I was forgetting that she wasn’t even there lol. I must say it felt nice taking a shower without interruption; oh the little things; you probably wouldn’t understand if you aren’t a parent.
However, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, and have an even better week.
Happy Monday
I am so thankful for how close my siblings and I grew up. The bond we have is incredible. Seriously, like no other.
I’m even more thankful to have a sister like mine, she’s always a call away whenever I am in need of anything. She would literally drop everything to be by my side if I needed her. She’s usually the 1st person I call when i’m in a jam, if I need her to beat someone up (lol I usually don’t need of for this, but just know!!!), If I need some toughening up or for literally anything.
Tricia I love you and thanks for always looking out for your siblings, and putting them before yourself. And thanks for loving your niece like she’s your own. You’re really the definition of what an elder sibling is supposed to be.
Also, A Big Happy Birthday shoutout to my dad, how cool is that? they both share the same birthday. YOu all know the love I have for my dad, as i’ve indicated in this post Here.
So, everyone wish my Big sister Tricia, and Father a Happy Birthday!!!!
This past weekend a few mommies and our littles visited SPARK by Brooklyn Children’s Museum.
SPARK is an affiliate of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. It is an art and play space designed for children ages six months to six years old; Located in the Dumbo area of Brooklyn. SPARK is most popular for their Brooklyn Block Lab exhibit, also their art and design workshops, music classes, etc. feel free to check out their website here.
I’m so happy that we were able to make this our most recent visit. I really enjoy all of our Mommy Meet ups, however this one in particular is definitely on the top of my list. First of all it has one of the most amazing views in Brooklyn. Their studio is facing the beautiful scenery of the East River, and Manhattan bridge, It’s just as beautiful as it sounds.
Another thing I love is how intimate the space is. Usually at our meet ups we’re in large venues, or spaces that doesn’t allow us to all be together at once, conversing, and the kids playing in our eyesight. I love how SPARK it set up, it gives you a birds eye view, no matter where you are you can see where your child is.
I also love all the different activities that were available; tons of art supplies, building blocks, miscellaneous stuff, such as a drum, train tracks, etc. Also, the Brooklyn Block Lab exhibit; I love it, and I believe the kids loved it even more. It was amazing to see them all playing together (without fighting), all sharing putting great ideas from their imagination together to create all kinds of things, such as a restaurant (they even assigned job titles for everyone, chef, sous chef, waiter, bus girl etc), they also built a house for them all to live in. I mean come on how cute is that. Okay, this post is getting longer than expected but we really all enjoyed ourselves, and I have to bring Alani back very soon.
If you haven’t yet, be sure to visit SPARK by Brooklyn Children’s Museum, I promise it won’t disappoint.
Also, I want to send a special Thank You to the lovely Brooklyn Children’s Museum for hosting our Meet up!
Love these girls
Kai is gonna find his entertainment one way or another
Loving this Mommy daughter duo!
He’s really the greatest. You barely heard a peep from him the entire meet up!
Thank you to all the super mommies who made it out, I really truly appreciate you all!!!
Until next time,
