As you all know Alani is about to be 3, and potty training hasn’t really been the best for us in the past.
Honestly, I really didn’t have the patience for this whole potty training thing. I tried the putting on panties while she’s in the house so that she would feel compelled to using the bathroom instead of wetting herself. Nope, that didn’t work, I was just a stressed out momma with a pile of extra laundry to do. Honestly if I were more consistent and more patient she would have probably been potty trained long time ago, but I really just didn’t have the patience.
I can’t say it was ALL bad, because we’ve had quite a few occasions where Alani would say “Mommy I have to use the bathroom” usually when we’re out in public, when I’d actually prefer her to go in her pull-ups than practice in a dirty public bathroom Ugh (I absolutely HATE public bathrooms, even for myself). There were also other occasions while we were home and she would use the bathroom all by her little self, and I’d just say to myself “YES!! that was easy”, but then the next day she’s going in her pull ups again.
Butttttt, there’s always a but. Alani has been using the bathroom a lot more frequently these days. Frequently; like I haven’t changed a number 2 diaper in WEEKS. Now we’re just waiting on her to pee in the toilet more often and not just in the morning. I am proud to say that Alani has been potty training herself lol. Alani is so vocal, and her vocabulary is out of this world, I always say to myself; you have all this mouth you should be using the bathroom by now, and the Lord has answered my prayers. My baby really isn’t a baby, and she is welcoming 3 years old with a BANG!!!
PS: Mommies, don’t stress yourself out with potty training, they might just potty train themselves:) (But always encourage, and little incentives are always great )
Day 17: 14 more days till the big 3
