Cherry Blossoms

May 21, 2021 | Leave a Comment

A few weeks ago we caught the Cherry Blossoms at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. This our second year visiting, and evry year it’s so beautiful. I remember a few years ago I would always try to visit, but it was always post bloom, so now I literally stalk their website to get updates around the season. I wish we would’ve gone when they were in bloom, and not peak bloom. Peak bloom seemed very similar to post bloom, most of the leaves were falling off, still beautiful nonetheless.

The Botanic Garden is so huge, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the entire garden. This year we went in from the Eastern Parkway Entrance for the first time, and there’s a open garden directly in front of the entrance; when I tell you soooooo beautiful, so serene, you can literally stay there, relax, meditate, and feel so refreshed. The kiddies had a good time running around and smelling the flowers. If you all go, let me know which section I should visit.

If yoou all missed the cherry blossoms this year, make sure you check for them again next year around April/May.

Lala at the wishing well, she has such big dreams for her future, and I love it
My Girls
This is the section directly from the Eastern Parkway Entrance, in so much better in person.
One thing about my sister in law, she gonna play, and love on the kids. We love and appreciate you Aunty Klarinz.
Their legit strawberry monsters, they can eat an entire carton each.
This cutie
Lala will always make friends.

Trust The Process

May 11, 2021 | 1 Comment

Last week I spent a few of hours reading my friend, my twins book “Trust The Process”. Although I’ve heard the story before, there were so many things I didn’t know, and it really felt as if I was hearing the story for the first time. While reading all I kept saying was “Twin lives such an exhilarating life” like wow you’re really out here taking risk, going full throttle. In High School we would always say “Have Faith”, and to see twin really just out here putting her best foot forward, not knowing what the outcome may be, but having faith that she would be led through the roads to success is amazing, and so inspiring to see.

Deijha, visited my fathers hometown-Ghana, and decided that she was going to move there to start her food truck business (Deijha Vu’s Jerk Hut), and she really did it. So many trials and tribulations, many that would have discouraged most, but Deijha continued to trust the process, and did what she set her mind to.

I love how she gave insight on every step, and was so vulnerable to the readers. One thing about twin she’s not going to hold out on information if she thinks it’ll benefit someone. She’ll tell you what factory she went to, to have her food truck built, what facebook group she was in to find staff; everything. She really is the epitome of, what’s for you is for you, and won’t miss you, even if we’re in the same field. Purchase the book y’all, it’s a quick read, and so worth it. Let me know what y’all think

Happy Mother’s Day

May 9, 2021 | Leave a Comment

Motherhood is Sacrifice, motherhood is patience, motherhood is time, and most of all motherhood is love. Sometimes they all may not coexist at once, but each and everyday we do our best, and that’s what counts. I hope you all take the time to love on yourselves, and appreciate how far you’ve come it’s not easy but it’s worth it.

Happy Mother’s Day to the mommies, the grandmothers, and let’s not forget the aunts who all make it possible. You all are loved.

-Love Demitra

A Pow Wow

May 7, 2021 | Leave a Comment

As you get older the meaning of friendship just doubles it’s value. Most of my friends are literally my family now (It’s up and it stuck, literally). I can’t stop reiterating how thankful I am that my friends kids and my kids are able to grow together, and love on one another as their moms did. This weekend the kiddies got to do just that. My sisters from Hudde JHS and I linked up like old times at prospect park, and had what we used to call- a Pow Wow. The kids literally had a blast, as you can tell by their clothes lmao. we spent 6 hours catching up with one another- jobs, businesses motherhood just everything, and we probably could’ve gone longer if the sun didn’t go down. I love and appreciate that we’re able to catch up right where we left from the last time we met, and I cant wait to do it again.

For all of you who have friendships that you cherish; meet up with them, call them, have a pow wow, it’s good for the soul!!!

Look at how adorable the kids are.

Lol the two are seriously the cutest.
It’s the stance and the apples for me

A Day at the CAMP Store

May 3, 2021 | Leave a Comment

Last weekend we visited the CAMP store for the first time. In honor of financial literacy month CAMP had an event sponsored by Ally. Kids were “hired” for different jobs with the ability to earn $15 of store credit when the job was completed.

Lala was a personal shopper. She had a list of gifts that she had to find for people who were purchasing items for others birthdays. Some of the descriptions were ” Two brothers are buying something special for their mom, she loves anything that will get her family to play all together”. Lala chose a Karaoke machine, and a board game for the mother of the two brothers. She really did such a great job, and she was sooo into it (look at the picture below). Later that day she asked me if there were really jobs like that, and I told sometimes it not as simple as it was at the CAMP store, but there are jobs out there just like that. I’m happy she had an introduction to working, and earning money, it was such a great event. If you guys haven’t been to the CAMP store, GO! it such a unique toy store, that also has a play stations for the kids, the kids would love it!

She was hard at work y’all
“Can you hold me”
