Granite Slide at the Billy Johnson Playground in Central Park

July 23, 2021 | Leave a Comment

The granite slide in Central Park has been on my list of things to do with the kids for a couple of years now. I cannot believe this was actually our first time. Thankfully my mom had an appointment nearby, and we were able to stop by. The kids really had such a great time. The only downside was that there’s sand, and both of the girls had on their crocs. Both of them hated that part, but thanks for the sprinklers, we were able to take care of that.

Next time we go I will bring a little cardboard, as I seen others do, so that we’re able to go down the slide a little faster. This little gem in the heart of central park, has me so excited to find more things for the kids to do this summer. Believe it or not so many people I’ve spoken to haven’t even been inside Central Park before; I hope this inspires you to go. I’m so upset that they closed down Victorian Gardens amusement park they had in there, there’s even a zoo. Can you believe Central Park is so big they even had an amusement park. Get to Central Park y’all if y’all haven’t. I think I’m going to add a picnic in Central Park for my summer activities.

I was able to take some pictures; I posted below. I also love me a good self timer, and thanks to the good Samaritans that’s always offering to take pictures for me. The kids had a great time, as you can see on their faces, if you’re nearby take the kids, I think they”ll like it.

Then we ended the day at La Villa, our childhood favorite

seaglass carousel

July 20, 2021 | 2 Comments

This past weekend my family and I recently visited the Seaglass carousel located in Battery Park, and stopped to have some lunch. A great weekend always consist of having family time. A lot of times we’re all so busy throughout the week, but we gotta stop and spend time with the ones you love the most. Living in NYC means there’s always something to do. If you want to have an impromptu lunch date, there are thousands of restaurants to choose from. If you want to partake in some activities NYC got you.

The sea glass carousel has been one of our favorite carousels in the city. So happy we finally brought the little one to visit. Lala has been twice already (Here, and Here) . They both had such a great time despite it being one of the hottset days ever.

Speaking of the heat. I don’t know what’s going on these days. Ever since I had Lizzy, I sweat uncontrollably when its hot out, i’m really not sure what that’s about, but somethings gotta give. I said I’m not going outside if it’s more than 84 degrees, that’s the cap. I even went and got be a handheld fan for the next time the heat wanna play with me like that lol.

She was so happy.
Love how she loves on her daddy.
After any activity we’re always like okay where are we eating. We always go to Serafina, but they didn’t have anymore indoor seating so we went to Blue Stone Lane. .
One thing about NYC you’re going to bump into all kinds of people. The people who mind their business, the people who don’t mind their business. Tee super friendly ones, the helpful ones, etc. Well thankfully we bumped into a super helpful friendly one. This guy seen Sekou taking a picture of the girls and I, and said hey you want to get in with them. Thank you to that man lol.
Also, please take the kiddies to the carousel in such a nice experience, not like any ordinary carousel. This one is super pretty, with the seaglass like material, and colors. It goes up, and down, and round and round lol. no, but it’s super cool.

Coney Art Walls Concert in Coney Island, Brooklyn

July 13, 2021 | Leave a Comment

This past weekend we visited Coney Art Walls for a 112 concert. Coney Art Walls is an outdoor museum of street art curated by Joseph J. Sitt & Jeffrey Deitch. it’s where streett artist are able to showcase their art on freestanding walls throughout the section a section in Coney island. I usually visit Coney island for the amusment park, but it was nice to have a different experience this time.

During the summer they’re hosted concerts. I believe every week there’s a different artist that performs. Last weekend it was 112. Tickets started at $50. I would definitely recommend going if you want a nice vibe. it was R&B night when we went, and the DJ’s played all the old schools songs, and if you know me you know I love me some R&B. 112 performance was blah, but their catalog made up for it. After the concert we walked the boardwalk, and got on a roller coaster. I cannot believe that they convinced me to get on the Thunderbolt, go look at the picture lol, the thrill level is extreme. I don’t even do roller coasters, but I have to say overall I rate this day 10/10.

The parents were out
I love how close my siblings and I are, like we had the best childhood together now we’re enjoying adulthood with one another, by choice.
My sisters, I love them.
Love them, and their bond!
Twin!!!
Look how beautiful my sister hair is, her and lizzy have very similar hair textures.

Table For 1 Please; Solo Dining

July 12, 2021 | Leave a Comment

I recently went to have lunch by myself. Many people think it’s the weirdest thing to have lunch by yourself, but me I love it. Some people find being in solitude weird or uncomfortable, whereas I love it. I love being able to being my own thoughts, stroking my imagination (In true pisces behavior).

I haven’t been out to eat by myself in a long time, but a few days ago I went to Whisk & Whiskey ; a Bar and Bakery in one. When I initially walked in I said “wow I can see myself dining here often to grab a bite, and maybe alittle cocktail if I’m up for it. The space is really so inviting, the decor… beautiful. They also have an outdoor space if you want to dine and get fresh air.

This Bar Bakery is located in the heart of Brooklyn. They offer a mix of Trinidadian, and Cambodian flavors. They serve fresh bakes (a Trinidadian staple), which you can eat alone or have with different fillers, such as Jerk chicken, Sweet Cambodian Chili Crispy Chicken, and more. They also serve a couple of baked good; cakes, and cookies (the lemon cookies- to die for), and drinks, they have many, the “Miss Ting Tings” was my favorite.

If you’re into solo dining or even group dates, add this to your list of places to visit. Also, I almost forgot to add that the staff were so welcoming, the hospitality was A1. So, make sure y’all visit. Let me know some places I can go dine alone that y’all love.

I had the Bake and Jerk Chicken. Now if you likes spicy food this one is for you. Now listen, only get this if you can handle the heat!! lol The Chef, Secoyah made this with love. Ade with the right amount of spice and flavor. Also, the freshly made Plantain chips that you see there, make sure you get it!!!
This is the Miss Ting Tings, so yummy!
