Hey My Loves, it’s been a minute since i’ve been here. So much has happened during these past few weeks, it’s been quite busy. I’m finding the time now to update you all on what we’ve been up to. A couple of weeks we had our first Mommy Meet Up of 2022 in honor of World Book Day. This was my first time collaborating with others who have the same mission as me, to give back to our community, and it was such a great idea.
One of my high school classmates (Hey Nikita) reached out to me to collaborate on a story time meet up for World Book Day. She also has a mission which she calls “It takes a village campaign” which supports students and families of color. She has created a job readiness program, academic support group, student, and family workshops, and more. She is currently raising money for her students to have paid internships this summer. I also was able to connect with Jeff of acommunitypubliclibrary, he has such a dope mission as well; to support literacy in our communities, with his free public library. He creates small libraries near or in front of small businesses with tons of free books for children of all ages. His library looks like this. This is so unique and I love it, so be sure to support any way you can.
I want to say thank you to everyone who continues to support my Mommy Meet Ups. It was so nice seeing all the little ones, and just catching up like old times. The kids had such an amazing time hanging out with one another. I’m excited for our future ones. Send some ideas on where we should go next?
