5 Mile Run this past weekend

July 20, 2020 | 2 Comments

Hey Y’all,

I’m still on a high from this past weekend. My crew (FHWlifestyle) and I ran a marathon, not a registered marathon, but OUR marathon. I’ve been making vision boards for the past like 6 years, and every year I say I want to run a marathon, I’m so happy that I can cross it off my list. This is one of those accomplishments that has you feeling invicible, and able to take over the world.

Some things really just don’t come easy, and it’s those things that you work so hard for that means so much, well at least to me. It allows me to push myself harder and harder, to continue to challenge myself. It’s real life confirmation that you legit are in control of your mind, and your actions, so make the best of it and don’t doubt yourself. Of course accomplishments don’t happen over night, but everyday just be a better person for yourself, do something small that will make you better the next day. This can come in all forms, whether you’re working out, being a parent, a better partner, business woman, whatever it is give it your all, be patient, and reap the benefits you worked your ass off for; no one can take that away from you. You can lose money, lose a job, a partner, anything thats tangible can be taken away, but when you have faith, you work hard, you will always win. Like I say all the time, be kind, be loving, I stand by that all the time, love really trumps all, love isn’t weak, so love yourself most importantly.

I love you all, and honestly hope this can motivate and inspire you to do something for yourself, to make you better. Remember it’s a marathon, NO RUSH!

-Love Demitra.

The Influencer; Sunday Riley

April 12, 2018 | Leave a Comment

Yesterday I was invited to the Sunday Riley Influence Foundation launch party. It was such a great time, and I’m thankful to have been invited.

Their pop up shop had a lot of different interactive activities, a slide that leads into a ball pit, a seesaw, music, open bar and more. I really think this is the new marketing strategy for companies that are  launching new items, really great idea. My best friend Ari and I were given their new foundation Influencer which is now available in all Sephora’s, so check it out. I can’t wait to try mine.

Anyways if you’re in NYC their pop up shop is located on 201 Mulberry St. in NY, which will be open from April 12th – April 15th (11am -8pm). Check out some of the pictures we took below.

Getting matched, her foundation number is 260, and mine is 280

Life Lately

June 27, 2017 | Leave a Comment

I feel like I haven’t been spending much time over here on my little space on the internet.

I feel like I’ve been busy, and super tired over the past couple of weeks. As a family we’re embarking on new adventures which I’m so excited about. Moving on your own with your own little family can be scary and exciting, for me it’s been both but more exciting. I’m just so thankful for our village we have, the support is everything and more.

Also, I’m just about 3 months in working out consistently, and boy has it been a challenge. I’m still working on eating healthier, but I’m getting there. I just love what working out does to the mind, body and soul. It’s crazy what the body can do once you put your mind to it. It’s also amazing seeing your body change right before your eyes. It really shows when you put in work, work hard and stay consistent results are inevitable, and because of that in implementing this in my daily life, whatever it may be that I’m working on.

I’m in a good space, and looking to stay here forever. I’m just so happy to have summer grace us with her presence as I’ve been patiently waiting. So here’s to the great weather, summer bodies, museum trips, mommy meet ups, and just great times.

We started our summer with a bang, check out a few pictures from my nephews graduation.

What have you guys been up to?!

Love this little girl, so happy God chose me to be her mommy, because if she wasn’t mine I’d want her to be ❤

When your uncle is snapping pictures, and you just want to watch your YouTube, lol what is up with these kids and YouTube these days?!

When your food finally comes lol

I love how my nephews love her

Looking forward to lots of Family time this summer❤

Smoothie cleanse update

January 31, 2016 | 3 Comments

Remember last week when I told you all I was starting my three day Dr. Oz cleanse?

Well I did it, and I completed the whole three days.

I’ve done this three times before, but this time around seemed so much harder than ever before. All I kept thinking about was food, and what my first meal was going to be, it’s not like I was hungry, but I just wanted food.

Any who, after the cleanse I ate good for the whole day, but when you live in NYC, and get snowed in because of the blizzard (Yes, i’m blaming the blizzard), you sit home and eat pure junk  all weekend(save the judgment), I promise to get it together, and soon!

To be honest I didn’t feel bad eating all of that junk, although I dedicated three days with great discipline to cleanse.

I’m still a work in progress!

Ps. This picture has nothing to do with this post, but a post just doesn’t seem right without a picture.

I just want my body back

January 16, 2016 | 2 Comments

I just want my pre baby body back.
Before I had Alani I was a workout beast, I had my little abs forming, which was my main focus. I was able to run about 5 miles, I was just in the best shape of my life.

I started working out again during the spring time last year, but that all came to a stop when I experienced a knee injury. My Doctor told me it was okay to start working out again months ago, but I was scared and too lazy, honestly. Now, I am ready to get back to the old me; I think I’m mentally ready.

Every time I get ready to start working out again for the 1st time, I always start off with this 3 day Dr. Oz cleanse. [Read more…]
