Happy Monday

January 29, 2018 | 1 Comment

As February is approaching I am proud of my accomplishments throughout the month of January. I’ve been consistently working out, drinking more water, reading a little more, introducing more mommy daughter dates with the little one, just trying to live my best life.

I’ve also been using my personal planner more. I notice at work I use my planner ALL the time, and its so effective, that I realized I need to do the same with my personal life. Clearly I’m trying to be more organized in life!!

So, February I’m ready to conquer.

Celebrating Love

December 18, 2017 | Leave a Comment

Last week we celebrated the love of Sekou’s Parents.

It was a wonderful night, I think I cried umm I don’t even know how many times at the beautiful speeches that were given.

Also, I have to bring up how Alani thought it was her night as well. Well her and her Papa’s night. If you know Alani enough you know that she is obsessed with her Papa (Sekou’s dad). She needs to know where he’s at, at ALL times. “Where’s Papa” “Papa can you hold me”, she might as well should of had a seat in the middle of both papa and grandma lol, it’s really the cutest thing ever honestly.

I’m just so happy we all got to enjoy this night. Most of all I Love that Alani gets to experience love. Her parents love each other, her parents parents love each other, yes only love, and I know it always doesn’t work out that way, because life has this way of showing us things in all forms, but as long as it’s love I’m here for it. I literally only want to expose her to just that, because there’s a lot of hate in the world that I’m sure she’ll see out there. I don’t teach one ounce of hate, be kind, be respectful, and be loving, although she’s only 3 and sometimes she be trying me I gotta bring her back lol. and Like Kiva said “Love is the strongest force in the universe”, so always go with love even if they’re showing hate.

Happy Monday

Congratulations Widza

October 6, 2017 | 1 Comment

One thing I can say is I always chose great people to be in my circle. I really have great friends, who inspire me, motivate me, and encourage me.

“Show me who your friends are, and I will tell you who you are”. Although I never totally agreed with this quote; ALL of my friends are hard working, dedicated, supportive, and many other great adjectives for me to list. I’m really so proud of all of my friends, and how far we all have come no matter what obstacles tried to come in our way

I want everyone to congratulate Widza on graduating from culinary school. She has put in blood sweat and tears for this, she has sacrificed so much, and it was all worth it, she has so much more to come so stay tuned.

I wouldn’t comment on anything that I haven’t tried myself, and I can attest that Widza’s food is amazing especially that mac and cheese of hers. I’m trying to convince her to sell plates of food during the week, because her snaps, and insta stories always make me so hungry. I want you all to go follow her instagram and tell her I sent you, also try convincing her to sell plates of food every now and again :).

I Love You Widza, and my favorite saying; it’s only up from here.

Kristel has some things in store for you guys too

Widza’s sister did such a great job with the decorations. I think i told her that she did the damn thing 100 times lol. Go follow her on instagram

This cake was so beautiful.

Thank You All For Stopping By

Happy Father’s Day

June 18, 2017 | 2 Comments

I just want to start this post of with how grateful I am for all the father/father figures out there. Thankful for the fathers who didn’t have a father figure growing up, but broke the cycle, thankful for the fathers who fathered children who weren’t biologically theirs, thankful for the fathers taking it one day at a time, and learning new things daily. I appreciate you.

I am so thankful for my dad. Growing up you never really know how your parents make things happen, as a kid you just knew that they were superheroes and whatever you needed/wanted you got. My dad was/is that and more. My siblings and I never needed for anything; tangibly or mentally. My father was always teaching us life lessons for as long as I can remember, educational lessons, financial, family, you name it. My father is a man of giving and loving, he always instilled in my siblings and I to love each other, to love others and if you have and others need, help those in need. I can go on and on why my dad is amazing and why the bar is set so high, but we get the Point.

I am just so grateful to have found a partner who shares so many qualities as my dad. When they say you choose mates like your parents it’s so true, and so creepy, But with a dad like hers; Alani is on her way to greatness, and it’s so exciting to see her blossom, and learn life lessons from her father.

So, Thank You to My dad, Alani’s Dad, and to Sekous dad for mirroring how to be a great dad. Also thank you to all of the fathers out there instilling life lessons, and memories in your children, trust me those last a lifetime, and the kids will forever remember. I love You.

March of Dimes walk for Madison

April 1, 2017 | Leave a Comment

I don’t think I’ve ever spoke about this on my blog, but Madison Alani’s Bff, and my niece was born 6 and a half weeks early.

At the time of Maddie’s birth I can only imagine how terrifying it was to go through preterm labor, and then have to leave your newborn baby in NICU for 10 days. The strong person Omi is pushed through, and kept a brave face. She also did everything to make sure Maddie reached her milestones; and above.

Today Maddie is so vibrant and full of life, and for Maddie, and Babies like Maddie we are participating in the March of Dimes walk on April 30th 2017, with the Allen family.  So please join us all, and you can also help Madison raise donations for March of Dimes to advance medicine and research towards healthy babies and moms, like Madison, and Naomi.
