Sekou has really been inspiring me

This morning I feeling really inspired by a lot of people, but let me tell you some of the benefits of having a partner who motivates/inspires you to be the best than you can be,

  1. They truly want the best for you, and will push you to be the best version of you.
  2. They bring out the best version of you.
  3. You learn from them, which pushes you even more.
  4. They give you purposeful advice
  5. There are so many benefits, that I couldn’t even list them all if I wanted to.

But, Sekou has been working very hard for several months now. Some of you may or may not know that both his cousins and him, create music, and they have been putting music out every Friday. Late nights I’ve been watching him tired from a long day at work, going to record music, and getting back to the house to create artwork, and upload music. All while being an amazing father to our daughter. I always compliment him, and try to push him just as he does me, to be consistent, and just be the best version of himself.

Sekou keep up the great work, Alani is watching and i’m sure she is going to be proud.

Also, for my readers go to their soundcloud (Upnorfdotcom) and listen to the music they’ve been putting out. My ABSOLUTE favorite right now is ‘Treat You Right’, which you can hear, here. I’ve loved this song from the first time I heard it like 10 years ago, okay i’m over exaggerating, maybe like 4 years ago, but I couldn’t wait for everyone to hear it, and I’m so happy that it’s out now, so go listen, and let me know what you think!

Family support is necessary

April 28, 2016 | 1 Comment

Supporting your loved ones is so important in my opinion. Whether you’re fighting the biggest fight of your life, or chasing your dreams that may sometimes feel so farfetched, having your support system there to push you through and keep you grounded is so necessary.

I am the person I am today because of my support system. My support system has helped with advice, with guidance, with encouragement, inspiration, and so much more.

I’m just so happy to be able to return the good deed, to one of my biggest supporters/inspirations ever; my brother. He is one of the most hard working and dedicated people I know. I think i’ve said this many times here on this blog, but it’s so true. He definitely has a story to tell and I hope you all get to hear it one day.

It was amazing being able to see him play soccer the other day with the entire family. It has been a LONG time since I’ve last seen him play (I know so bad), but I’m making a conscious effort to support more.

Sunday was a good game Nana, you definitely showed up and showed out, keep up the great work!

Be sure to follow his soccer Journey and follow him on Instagram.

Alani was having a ball on the field during half time, kicking the ball to daddy, and into the goal, and screaming goalll after. I think she has a natural love for the sport; not by force.

Our parents came out too. It’s so hilarious watching my mother be the commentator for the game, she thinks she knows all the missed calls, all the bad calls, whose supposed to be defending who etc lol.

My sister really plays her role as a big sister very well, she’s our biggest cheerleader for everything we do!DSC_0791

Now she running the track.

Baby girl waiting on the field to give her uncle a high five, this stuff cannot be made up lol, you just have to love her!

Vision Board Party

January 12, 2016 | Leave a Comment

DSC_0074

This past weekend, a friend of mine hosted a vision board party.

It was so inspiring, and I am glad that I went (Thanks for the invite Widza, and Miniola).

It was a group of ladies, and we all spoke about what our passions were, and what we wanted to do with our passion.

Everyone had a different passions, and was able to receive advice from others.

I think gatherings like this one is great for women; coming together, being positive, and motivating others to be all that they can be.

If you haven’t already go ahead a plan a vision party with you and your girlfriends.

I’m definitely loving how my year is starting off. Everything may not be in order but i’m definitely in a happy place, and an inspiring one too.

What am I passionate about, and what do I want to do with that passion? [Read more…]

You’ve got to give to receive

I just finished reading one of my favorite books (The Seven Spiritual Laws Of Success) for the 100th time.

I could never get tired of this book. It’s like every time I read it I learn something new that I missed the last time.

One of my favorite parts of this book is the chapter “The Law Of Giving”, which is where I got the quote above from.

This book is definitely worth the read, whenever you have some leisure time, (which I know is hard when you have a little one) you should read, and let me know what you think.

Pamela Harris for New York State Assembly District 46

October 8, 2015 | 2 Comments

Yesterday I went to a fundraiser for Pamela Harris who is running for Assembly in the 46th district.

Yesterdays event was one of those events that you leave from so inspired. It makes you believe that you can be anything you want, as long as you put in hard work and dedication.

Pam is my sister in-laws aunt, and since I’ve known her, I’ve known her to be a strong advocate for her community. She has an organization called the Coney Island Generation Gap helping the youth, family and senior citizens. There are so many creditable jobs that I am missing, but just believe me when I say that his woman is phenomenal, and is the perfect example of hard works pays off.

Sekou made a great comment yesterday saying that many people work hard and are dedicated to their work to make themselves better, but Pam is not only dedicated to her life but to others as well, and that’s a big role to take on. [Read more…]
