Mommy Diaries
With all the cuteness; round bellies, glowing faces, and growing body parts you’ve always wanted comes all the scary thoughts that may come to your mind during pregnancy.
Before pregnancy you may not think of all that goes into it. Now you have to take of yourself and your growing baby. You have to make sure you’re eating right, not lifting heavy things, because at any sudden moment anything can happen.
You’re anxious to reach that 2nd trimester because that’s usually the safe zone. Miscarriage isn’t so common, and a lot of exciting things happen, like seeing your baby’s growth during ultrasounds, learning of your baby’s sex etc.
Then there are those anxious moments when you have to take blood, and wait until your next [Read more…]
We absolutely love the holidays around here!
It calls for LOTS of family time, laughs, love, food, and just greatness.
Growing up the holidays in my household consisted of just my family that lived with me. I never knew what it was to celebrate the holidays with a big family. Although my family is very large, most of them are across the world so it was just my siblings, parents and I, my parents always made sure it was memorable. I remember the hot chocolate, I remember my parents waking us up at 12am to pick one gift to open to hold us over till the morning. The holidays were great.
Now that I have a daughter the holidays are even better. I want to make hers 10 times better and memorable than mine. Her holidays already consist of so much family. Sekou has such a huge family, so Alani gets to spend time with All her grandparents, some of her great-grands, a great great grand, aunts, uncles, cousins, you get it, just a lot of family. I am so thankful that she has all these people in her life, it makes my heart so happy.
Are you all ready for the holidays? If not get ready it’s right around the corner.
Happy Monday, have a great week!
Children are so innocent, and with their innocence comes beauty, genuine love, and sometimes brutal honesty.
Has a child ever come to you and asked you a question that made you uncomfortable? like how come you guys have a baby, but you’re not married, or that time your little cousin asked your aunt who can’t have kids, how come all of your sister have children but you?, and all you can do is give their parent that eye, like come get your kid!
Well clearly that kid isn’t Alani, because she isn’t talking yet, but I did have a semi-embarrassed moment recently. As some of you may know Alani takes swimming lessons. Recently her class got a new instructor, and for some reason Alani just wasn’t feeling her. I’m not sure if it’s because she was new, and Alani didn’t know her, but when the instructor went to do a one on one lesson with her Alani screamed so loud, and even went as far as to hit her. Oh my goodness I felt so bad and all I could do was apologize. I swear everyone was staring, I was quite embarrassed. As the weeks have been going by she’s been warming up to her, so pray for me.
Before having Alani, I used to care about what people had to say, or what they thought about me, but now [Read more…]
So earlier this week my lovely sister in-law got tickets for the whole family to see Disney on Ice, thank you Klarinda!!!
Sekou and I were wondering if Alani was going to be into the show, even just a little bit, because she barely ever watches TV. Well baby girl was watching and dancing, and wouldn’t even budge when we called her name.
She was really into the lights, and the music. We had amazing seats so she was able to see everything, too bad she can’t hang and fell asleep by the second half (this girl falls asleep by 8:00pm faithfully).
Anyway, in my opinion Disney on Ice was amazing, the production was excellent. My favorite performances were Lion King (Classic), and Aladdin. I really enjoyed it myself, and so did my nephews who i thought weren’t going to like it, because they’re so big now. So there you have it, all age groups can go.
The last show is tomorrow, so if you can make it, go!
You can buy tickets here
Now all I have to do is buy the Disney movie collection (these companies sure know how to make you spend money)
Have a great weekend everyone!
We love you Aunty Klarinda!
