Are mommies allowed to have girls night sans babies?

Since becoming a mother I don’t like going out if I can’t have my daughter in tow .

But last night, it was a good friend (also, Sekou’s cousin) Birthday, so a group of us went to celebrate her birthday at dinner (Sekou missed yet another event, due to a business trip, is it over yet?!!).

Before leaving for our late dinner, I made sure I put baby girl to sleep. I have a rule for myself; to put the baby to sleep before I go out so I’m still the last person she’ll seenwhen she goes to bed, and first person when she wakes up.

But since my daughter has what has to be a sensor for when mommy is not in her bed, she woke up just before I was leaving out, like “hey mom where do you think you’re going?”.

Monday is that you already?!

You came so quickly, but I open you with open arms, because Alani and I had a GREAT weekend despite daddy not being here (Sekou, we missed you).

This weekend was filled with lots of family time, love, happiness, and laughter.

My mother definitely has to be one of God sent Angels.

I absolutely don’t know where I would be without her, but I am so thankful for her.

I know I said this many times before, but since becoming a mommy my appreciation and love for my mother has been at an all time high (Motherhood really puts everything into perspective.)

so please disregard all those teenage years (but I was a decent teenager overall. Right?!)

we’ve always a good relationship, but this past yr our relationship has blossomed into greatness.

It’s always refreshing to know that your close friend is having a baby, just around the same time as your little one.

One of my close friends just welcomed her precious baby girl the other day, and I am ecstatic to know that Alani is going to have a close friend just months apart (This means LOTS of play dates)

Omi and I have been friends since we were 11 years old (whew time flies).

To know that we are embarking on a new chapter in our lives as parents, at the same time is overwhelmingly exciting.

Every time someone tells me they’re pregnant I try to refrain from overwhelming them with advice (I know how annoying that can be)

But Omi, if I could give you any advice in the world I will tell you, do it your way, learn as you go, and your way is JUST fine, you won’t be perfect, but you’ll get through, don’t be too prideful to ask for help, babygirl will still think you’re superwoman:).

These vendors sure know how to get people’s money.

Babies are just the cutest people on earth.

They’re mini humans walking around.

With little human bodies (what’s cuter than that?!)

With that being said, every time I see anything in a mini version it automatically becomes a must have for my daughter ( well not just anyyything, but you get what i’m saying).
