Birthday Vacation; Aruba

March 29, 2021 | Leave a Comment

Can you all believe this is the first vacation Sekou and I took out the country without the kids?!, Yea i’m just as shocked as you all. It was a much needed break. Being able reset, and unplug from everything was everything and more. Being able to enjoy each others company for those few days was nostalgic.

Arbua was one of the most beautiful islands i’ve experienced, so peaceful, with the most serene blue waters, and white sand. The most polite people who all were so concerned about how their island was treating us. Would definitely recommend for a baecation, solo, or family trip. A place you’d want to visit to unwind, and feel relaxed, which we spent most of our time doing. The island is pretty small, but theres plenty of things to do. We visited DePalm island, which is a private island off of the main island, literally a 5 minute ferry ride. We went snorkeling, took pictures with flamingos, and relaxed. Although the beach there is very rocky, it’s a nice place to enjoy excursions, even for the kiddies, and just chill. We also seen people driving UTV’S around the island, which looked really cool, something I hope we can do next time we visit. Also, we heard great things about Arikok Park, something else to add list for our return trip.

If you haven’t visited Aruba put it on the list. I had it on my vision board for the past 2 years, I had to ask Sekou if he was peaking at my board, because literally checked 3 things that were on my board in 1 trip; Grateful, and thankful. Overall I’d definitely recommend!!! What vacations spots are on your list to visit?

Here is a photodump of pictures we took in Aruba.

If you haven’t already go purchase my mother in-law’s book ‘Meditation Madness‘
Look how cuteee they are!!!
Let’s talk about these braids I did. The black woman is so damn talented, if you didn’t know already!!!

Birthday Dinner

March 19, 2021 | Leave a Comment

Turning 30 has me feeling so renewed, so grown, so sexy, just all the good things. I am ready to take on this new chapter in life and so excited to see what’s to come, because everything just feels so right; right here, right now.

The other night I celebrated my birthday early with some of my sisterfriends. Let me tell you about my sisterfriends; growing up I always had a lot of friends, and throughout the years I’ve maintained just about all of my friendships; and the ladies you see in this picture are most of them, the ones I hold so close to my heart. These girls really bring out the best in me. They’re always there celebrating me, encouraging me, and praying for me. It’s so hard to find the words to explain the kind of bond I have with each and everyone of them, but I will say that every girl deserves true friendships like this; filled with love and loyalty, whether it be 2 girlfriends or a gang (gang gang lol).

The other night hearing all of my friends share their favorite memory of me, had me in tears, and laughter. You really never know how much you impact the people around you, just for being yourself, being a pure soul, being genuine, and giving love. I say all of this to say – Give Love y’all; always, it goes a long way.

A few pictures from dinner, I couldn’t pick which pictures I liked best, so y’all getting all of them!

Also dinner at Lamia’s Fish Market was such a vibe, y’all should definitely check out. Super cute for date night.

My Star Baby

March 3, 2021 | 1 Comment

Hey Fam,

What have yall been up to. I hope you all are hanging in there taking it one day at a time. We are excited about the warm weather approaching. We’ve been getting teased and i’m just ready for mother nature to buss out, so we can hang. I miss y’all, and can’t wait till we can have another mommy meet up, which will be sometime hopefully sooner than later. What would y’all want to do, let me know in the meantime.

Also, look at this cool hairstyle we did in Lala’s hair. Quick story time; I did bantu knots in my hair a few weeks ago, and everyone hated it LOL, but the one person who loved it was Lala, so she asked me to do it and it came out soooo bomb. I’m really a self taught beautician, well thanks to my sister Tricia for teaching me everything I know. How y’all think I did?

Its the precision for me!!!!

Fun At The Cartoon Network Hotel

February 19, 2021 | Leave a Comment

We took a family road trip to the Cartoon Network Hotel for a staycation, while Lala was on mid winter recess. I cannot believe I haven’t heard word of this hotel sooner; whoever’s the PR over at Cartoon Network hit me up to help get the word out there.

This was such a cute trip, everything is cartoon network inspired; from the rooms to the bathrooms, even the snow salt was colorful reminding me of my favsss; the Power Puff Girls.

The kids enjoyed the indoor pool, movie night, and arts and crafts activities. If you’re looking for a little staycation with the kiddies, you guys might like it here. My only Con was that the set up is like a complex, so you have to travel a small distance to the main area, the pool etc; when it’s cold it’s annoying to have to put on coats to go everywhere, but other than that we all give it a thumbs up. Will you be visiting?

The Strawberry SnoWoman

February 1, 2021 | Leave a Comment

We spent our early morning in the snow this morning building a snowman. Lala has been asking for more time, alone time, not necessarily in words, but in her behavior, and usually not the best. Through all the busyness, and hectic days, kids do not care, they still need the attention they so often crave for, and they’re going to make in KNOWN.

So, we started our Monday morning in the snow, and built Lala’s veryyy first snowman, hoping we can keep the momentum up for the rest of the week.

How did we do with Strawberry the SnoWoman??
