Lovedemitra’s 3rd Mommy & Me Group Meet up at Prospect Park Zoo

June 28, 2016 | 3 Comments

DSC_1209

This past weekend the mommies and the tots met up for our 3rd Mommy & Me Group Meet Up.

Let me tell you how much I love this group. I love that we have mommies with kids of different ages, because we’re able to talk about the different stages our kids are at, and get advice from the other mommies about what to expect.

I definitely learned that with new stages, comes new battles. What I love the most is being able to have girl chat, and our babies playing all at the same time. Like I said in the last two Mommy & Me Group Meet Up posts that you can catch here and here; I live for the adult conversations we have, they’re always great.

I just want to thank all of you fabulous mommies for making it possible; for us to meet, and our kids to have a blast.

I hope to see the rest of you mommies at the next meet up, TBA.

Here are some pictures

Lovedemitra’s 2nd Mommy & Me group meet up

May 17, 2016 | 1 Comment

Lovedemitra’s 2nd Mommy & Me group meet up was a success.

First and foremost I want to thank the Brooklyn Children’s Museum for sponsoring admission for my Mommy group. It was a great experience.

The honest truth is, I’ve never been to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. It’s quite embarrassing, being that I was born and raised in Brooklyn. However, it’s never too late, and I’m glad my daughter and I got to experience a first together, and this experience was a good one.

I love how the museum has different stations (exhibits), such as the totally tots, where the kids were able to play and explore their senses through water, sand, music and much more. Most of the kids were obsessed with the slide that’s in there. I loved the totally tots exhibit, if you stayed in that one exhibit all day , I think your child would have a blast. The other exhibit that I love is the World Brooklyn exhibit, with all the different local shops. It’s funny to see your child imitating you when you’re in the stores shopping. These kids are ALWAYS watching and just waiting for their chance to play “Mommy” it hilarious, but even cuter to see. They were grabbing their carts, and baskets, putting their items in them, and taking it to the cashier. It’s so amazing seeing how independent and careless they are. They usually start off by observing, and then walking around and exploring, all on their own.

I think all the kids enjoyed the grocery store the most. Even the older kids enjoyed it. Some were playing cashier, while others were playing customers. too bad I wasn’t able to capture that moment, because the mommies were busy having Mommy conversations. That’s one of the best parts during the mommy group, that I enjoy. Being able to have adult conversation with other mother’s like you, sharing stories, giving advice. I feel like I always leave learning something new, about new places to take LaLa, or new things you can do, such as make your own wipes (yes one of my friends makes her own wipes, maybe she can do a tutorial for you guys :)). I’m just so inspired by all the moms that were there, whether you’re a stay at home mom, bussing your ass all day cleaning, feeding, playing, teaching your child, and you can’t forget, dealing with the tantrums, and cries too; or whether you’re a single mom doing it by yourself, working full time, and still managing to be supermom when you get home. All of your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed here. Keep up the great work, if no one is rooting for you I am.

Thank you again to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum all the mommies and their children had a blast.

If you haven’t already, make sure you visit the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, your child would love it. They’re opened from Tuesday to Sunday, you can receive more information, and plan your visit here.

Funfact: Did you know that the Brooklyn Children’s Museum is the first Children’s Museum in America? Some are even saying it’s the 1st in the world.

Another reason why the Brooklyn Children’s Museum should be on the list of places to take your child.

Have you ever been to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum? if so how was you experience?

Thank you to all of you supermoms who made it to this meet up, Love you guys.

-Love Demitra

Lovedemitra’s 1st mommy group meet up

April 22, 2016 | 2 Comments

DSC_0650

From left to right: Widza & her daugher, Jhoven & daughter, Alani and I, Naomi & her daughter, Tunisia & her son, and at the top Deijha and her God daughter.

So, Lovedemitra had its 1st mommy group meet up, and it turned out great.

First I want to thank all of you wonderful mommies for supporting my mommy group, and for bringing the kiddies out to enjoy a day of fun.

Yesterday, We spent the evening at the Grand Army Plaza Library, for an Ezra Jack Keets story time, and arts and crafts after ( it was really nice). We all were also given a free Ezra Jack Keets book, now thats always a plus.

After story time and art and crafts were over we immediately all began to talk and bond as if we all have known each other forever, (most of the ladies met for the first time yesterday) we stayed like an extra 30 minutes after arts and crafts was done just talking, we would’ve stayed in that room for hours had they let us.

Instead, we decided to get some food from the cafe inside the library. My friend Naomi was the one who suggested us stopping there, and kept telling her sister and I how good the food is. When I tell you that grilled cheese sandwich I had was amazing, it was AMAZING, one of the best i’ve ever had, no exaggeration. So if you’re there check them out, they’re a little pricey, but the food was good, and there were no complaints from the mommies or babies.

All the ladies and I sat outside for what must have been another two hours, talking, giving advice, and sharing first time mommy stories. All the kids were playing so nicely together it was nice to see. Alani is usually around adults most of the time so seeing her interact with other children is beautiful, there were lots of ring around the rosies, peek a boos, and running amongst the kids. They all made me feel like this mommy group is going to be great.

Thanks again ladies, until next time.

PS: If you missed this meet up you can join us for the next one, which is scheduled next month. Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog, I will be sending out a blast to all my subscribers by 4:30 pm today.
