Saturday at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum

March 14, 2022 | Leave a Comment

This past Saturday I took the girls, and my niece to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. The had the Brooklyn Muse circus at the museum, so so exciting. One thing about the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, they really know how to throw an entertaining event. The kids had so much fun. Y’all know Alani loves Gymnastic, so wehn she seen the performers she said “oh my gosh I have some practice to do” lol. After the circus they had a bouncy house, they had an art station, the kids loved it. The girls also got a chance to play around in the tots area to finish off the day.

Can you believe I took all three girls by myself, lol. I literally said a prayer the night before like Please let these girls behave while we’re out. I also had to give them a pep talk before we left. The girls were sooo well behaved, and I cannot wait to have many more of these moments with them. The only tough part with taking kids out for me is the using the bathroom. Lord I really hate using public bathrooms, hate even more for kids, ugh! but we made it!

I hope that restrictions have been somewhat lifted you all can enjoy all the activities with your families. The Brooklyn Children’s Museum are having more events coming up, so check out their page. The even have skating on their roof now.

So thankful for this bond they have!
The smiles, it’s the happiness
Sometimes having kids so far apart in age, their interests may be so different that you pray and hope they both would enjoy. Thankfully Alani is still enjoying the activities Aleise is, I hope a have more years than not of the mutual interest.
All I could thing of when watching her performance was the enormous amount of ab strength sh e has.

Life Lately

March 1, 2022 | 4 Comments

Happy March 1st family. I hope you all are doing well. It’s been a hectic, stressful few weeks. However, last week was such a great week for us. Last week felt like some normalcy, being able to do things we used to do ALL the time as a family; hanging out with friends, going to the museum, family events, just good times. Since all these mandates it was hard for me to pivot, and find the joy in other things, to be totally honest, we’re the kind of people we like what we like. I’ve always loved planning things for my family to do, but these past 2 years it’s been so hard with all the restrictions.

Last week we were able to do more in a week than we done in the past few months. We had a playdate, went to Dave and Busters (who knew they recently opened one right in Brooklyn?), we went to Long Island Children’s Museum, and a baby shower. Eventful, and fun week!! Taking the kids to the museum was so nice. Aleise hasn’t really gotten the chance to experience our museum journey’s the way I hoped, but with the upcoming changes I’m hoping we can resume our journey.

Also, I’ve been faithfully using my planner for the past 8 weeks, and it has been life changing. I’ve always used a planner for work, and didn’t really know how important it was for my personal life. Relying on memory is a thing of the past now. I literally plan everything now. I told myself if i’m able to organize my work life I should do the same for my personal, HELLO. I’m so excited for this self motivated, self determined, and organized Demi. I’m ready for fun activities with my family.

What are some activities you all are looking forward to? Mine is going to the museums.

They wanna be like their daddy
She’s so brave
It’s the smile
I loveee this silhouette
No, I really love us!!

Kaws: What Party- Brooklyn Museum

April 28, 2021 | Leave a Comment

We finally was able to visit the museum since COVID, and it was so nice to be out on our museum journey as a family. We went to the Brooklyn Museum for the Kaws Exhibit, and the sculptures are soooo cool, it gives me childhood fun, with the colors and the doll-like figures.

Aleise wasn’t too interested, there were a few moments when she did point and say mommy look (literally the cutest) but for majority of the time she wanted youtube. Lala on the other hand she was well exploring, and acting like a real art connoisseur- I love to see it. I really can’t wait to do this more with my family. What Museums do you guys like to visit?

Armory Show 2020

March 9, 2020 | 2 Comments

Happy Monday Ya’ll.

Last week we made it to the Armory Show, I’ve been wanting to go for the past few years, but glad we finally made it. My honest opinion is that it’s a bit overwhelming, because theirs like thousandsssss of pieces, it’s A LOT, but either way was glad Sekou and I were able to have a date night without the kids, something we don’t do often. Check out our pictures below!

For everyone in relationships, with children, how important are date nights in your relationship, and how often do you plan for them?

Honestly I love date nights, however I be so consumed in mommy life, that I don’t make the time for date nights, and trust me I understand how important not forgetting about your relationship while parenting is, because the kids will become adults, and have their own lives. It’s so easy to get drowned in the day to day life of work parenting, hobbies etc. But I want to make it more of a priority. Progressss!

LOL have yall ever watched the Marie Kondo Netflix series?

I loved all of them, and clearly didn’t know which one to choose.

Happy Valentines Day Everyone

A few weeks ago we went to the Children’s Museum of Manhattan This was Aleise’s first visit, and she really wasn’t that interested, but she’ll understand soon enough that we are a museum family, and that she has to get it together

Alani was able to enjoy her experience with her friend, they really be enjoying each others company, and acting all wild. It’s so beautiful to see. Oh how lovely it is to live carefree!

Check out some of our pictures below.

Look how cute they are
