Sekou and I haven’t been on a date with just the two of us in a while, so this past weekend Sekou planned the day.

And when you let Sekou plan a day of fun you end up at the Museum Of Sex.

I was a little apprehensive at first, but then I said, hey sometimes you gotta live a little.

I would describe our experience here as different; different from all the other museums we’ve ever been to. It was also informative, there was somethings I’ve seen that I had no clue about prior to.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to go to a museum out of the ordinary, and just have fun. It’s open to anyone over the age of 18. We seen young people, and even older people, so if you’re of age go ahead a visit, and let me know what you thought of it.

I’d suggest purchasing your tickets online to skip the long wait outside.

We ended our night a one of our favorite restaurants; Lavo we’re never disappointed. This Penne seafood alfredo is heaven.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

Children’s Museum of Manhattan

Okay, so Sekou and I agree that we are starting our museum journey. We want to visit all of the most famous museums in NYC. We have a few under our belt, but there’s a lot more on the list. We’ll be visiting all of the great ones all over the world as well (I’m speaking it into existence right here on this blog).

Anyway, yesterday we woke up and said okay what’s on the agenda, and decided the Children’s Museum of Manhattan would be our first stop.

The Children’s Museum Of Manhattan was AMAZING. If you’re reading this and you have kids you have to take them there. It’s really like the equivalent of what the MET would be for adults. Sekou and I love the MET and have been there on several occasions.

Back to the CMOM; there are 5 floors full of excitement. Alani really had a great time, and so did I, she had me crawling in tunnels, going on slides about 10 times back to back (no exaggeration), [Read more…]

Whitney Pt.2

July 21, 2015 | 3 Comments

AA

Last week we took a trip to the Whitney museum, where I got this lovely book for our daughter.

This was our first time taking her to the museum, and our first time going to this museum.

I think it’s safe to say that we all enjoyed it, even baby girl, she couldn’t keep her hands off of the paintings (had the workers running to me telling me she CANNOT touch the paintings, oops).

Other than that everything was perfect, she was all into the paintings and exhibits, she didn’t fuss not once.

I really loved the ‘Mary Heilmann: Sunset’ exhibit, which is over on September 27th.

If you have time, I definitely recommend visiting, you will not be disappointed.

For all the parents with babies, they have stroller tours on select Saturdays, for parents with children ages 0-18months.

Here are pictures from our Whitney experience [Read more…]

Whitney Museum Pt.I

July 15, 2015 | 2 Comments

The other day we took a family trip to the Whitney Museum.

It was absolutely gorgeous (we’ll talk about that another time because it deserves it’s own post).

Anywho, we bought Alani the cutest little book ever while we checked out their guest shop, and I couldn’t wait to get home to read it to her, too bad she past out right after her bath. [Read more…]
