Paris 2017

February 2, 2017 | 1 Comment

This past week I visited Paris with four of my best friends from Junior High School friends (which, most of you met here). Yes, we’ve literally been friends since we were 11 years old, and here we are 15 years later taking an all girls trip to Paris.

Paris was an experience I won’t ever forget; this was the first time being away from LaLa, first time going on an all girls trip, there were a lot of firsts, and it was great experiencing them with these group of ladies.

Paris seems so much similar to the New York City’s vibe. I didn’t really have a huge culture shock, which I thought I would. However the language barrier was a big deal, thank goodness for Essie who was our translator the entire trip.

It’s impossible to tell you all about my trip in one post, so look forward to tons of pictures and many Paris blog posts in the near future.

Also, Big Shout Outs to Essie for the great hospitality.

Pipilotti Rist Exhibit

November 28, 2016 | Leave a Comment

Yesterday we took a family trip to the New Museum again. The last time we went we didn’t get to enjoy the full experience, because a lot of the exhibits were closed, but you can see that post here. However, this time around we were able to enjoy it all from exhibit to exhibit.

They’re currently showing Pipilotti Rist: Pixel Forrest exhibit, this is one of the popular exhibits they’re showing, hence why the wait was about 25 minutes to get in. I’d suggest going during the week to possibly beat the crowd. Although there was a line, Rist’s Kaleidoscopic color display is so beautiful, and it was well worth the wait

Don’t ever say i’ve never looked out for you guys, Rist’s exhibit is over January 15th, 2017, so go visit, even if you’re not that into museums, this visit will be worthwhile.

“Circa 2345”

October 17, 2016 | Leave a Comment

This weekend we took a trip to Galerie Perrotin in the city.

I came across David Arsham’s “Circa 2345” exhibit via instagram, and from the looks of it it looked so nice. In person it looks even better. This exhibit gave me sports vibes, with all the different sports balls, the football jackets, basketball jersey’s, hockey masks, and baseball hats. The blue calcite crystal hrdyostone medium, makes the pieces look that more beautiful, by the looks of his pieces you can tell he dedicated lots of time and patience, they were all flawless.

The most popular part of his exhibit is the “Amethyst Sports Ball Cavern”, which is an expansions of his previous works exploring archaeology, fiction and the collapsing of time. That was my family’s favorite part.

While doing some research on Arsham, I was found out that he designed several Kith stores, including the one located on Flatbush, Downtown Brooklyn, and has been the designer for many other stores, and companies. This guy is pretty Dope.

I’m so glad we got to visit before the it was over, the last day is October 22nd, so if you’re in the area be sure to visit.

Here are some pictures from our visit. [Read more…]

Our visit to the Museum of the City of New York

October 12, 2016 | Leave a Comment

We had off this Monday, so we decided to take a trip to the Museum of the City of New York.

This museum is a historic art museum focusing on obviously New York City’s history.

There were a few exhibits, and my favorites were Roz Chast: Cartoon Memoirs, In the South of Bronx of America, and Activist New York.

This museum was one of the smaller ones we visited, but has good content you can view in about an hour. We all enjoyed ourselves. Alani enjoyed the couches that they had located all over the museum the most lol. Every couch she seen she had to test out; it’s safe to say she enjoyed the decor.

We also, had Alani’s grandma in tow, so it was a good day overall.

Here are some pictures below.

Children’s Museum Of The Arts

September 28, 2016 | 1 Comment

dsc_0539

Recently we took a family trip to the Children’s Museum Of The Arts, and we enjoyed.

There are so many perks about living in NYC, and the ton of museums that are here, are on of them.

I know I always tell you guys that the museums we go to are a must see, but be sure to put this one closer to the top of the list for the kiddies, because it’s bound to bring out the little artist in your child.

I love that they have different art stations for the kids to be hands on with (we didn’t get to capture all of them), such as the Play dough station, painting station etc. Alani loved the play dough station, perhaps because we were just at Private Picassos doing the same thing.

After a while the terrible twos symptoms starting kicking in, which also means she probably was ready for a nap, so that was our cue.

Any-who, be sure to take the kids, they’ll really enjoy this one.
