LoveDemitra’s Family Meet Up CMA Edition
This past weekend LoveDemitra’s family meet up took place at the CMA fair.
Thank you to the mommies who came out with the kiddies. All the kids had a great time, and it’s really amazing to see how close the kids friendships have grown. You couldn’t tell the kiddies that they haven’t been friends forever, I love it.
Love this Mommy and Daughter duo
This mango Ice Cream was everything and more, where are they located!!!
Hope to see the rest of you at the next meet up.
Thank you Naomi, Tunisia, and Widza for always supporting since the 1st Mommy Meet up I Love You Ladies.

Those meaningful moments with our children last a lifetime
This parenting thing here has no rule book, or blueprint. All we can do is do the best we can, and learn from trial and error. For me, making conscious decisions, surrounding my daughter with love, and spending time is the recipe for greatness, and I know Sekou would agree. I cannot count how many people have told me that Alani will never remember any of these things we have done with her thus far, but that is never going to stop us. Matter of fact they are right, but for us it’s never too early to start hanging out with our kid, and doing fun things as a family together.
We’re both big on spending time, especially since we both are full time workers, hence the reason why we love the weekends around here. The weekend is our time to just do whatever we want, and do all kinds of family activities.
When I was younger it was the same thing in my household. The weekends were spent at either mine, or my siblings soccer games, family functions, or any kind of kid friendly activities. There are places I don’t ever remember being, but I have pictures to look back at. However, I have this vivid memory of visiting The Floating Hospital as a kid. [Read more…]
Lovedemitra’s 2nd Mommy & Me group meet up
Lovedemitra’s 2nd Mommy & Me group meet up was a success.
First and foremost I want to thank the Brooklyn Children’s Museum for sponsoring admission for my Mommy group. It was a great experience.
The honest truth is, I’ve never been to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. It’s quite embarrassing, being that I was born and raised in Brooklyn. However, it’s never too late, and I’m glad my daughter and I got to experience a first together, and this experience was a good one.
I love how the museum has different stations (exhibits), such as the totally tots, where the kids were able to play and explore their senses through water, sand, music and much more. Most of the kids were obsessed with the slide that’s in there. I loved the totally tots exhibit, if you stayed in that one exhibit all day , I think your child would have a blast. The other exhibit that I love is the World Brooklyn exhibit, with all the different local shops. It’s funny to see your child imitating you when you’re in the stores shopping. These kids are ALWAYS watching and just waiting for their chance to play “Mommy” it hilarious, but even cuter to see. They were grabbing their carts, and baskets, putting their items in them, and taking it to the cashier. It’s so amazing seeing how independent and careless they are. They usually start off by observing, and then walking around and exploring, all on their own.
I think all the kids enjoyed the grocery store the most. Even the older kids enjoyed it. Some were playing cashier, while others were playing customers. too bad I wasn’t able to capture that moment, because the mommies were busy having Mommy conversations. That’s one of the best parts during the mommy group, that I enjoy. Being able to have adult conversation with other mother’s like you, sharing stories, giving advice. I feel like I always leave learning something new, about new places to take LaLa, or new things you can do, such as make your own wipes (yes one of my friends makes her own wipes, maybe she can do a tutorial for you guys :)). I’m just so inspired by all the moms that were there, whether you’re a stay at home mom, bussing your ass all day cleaning, feeding, playing, teaching your child, and you can’t forget, dealing with the tantrums, and cries too; or whether you’re a single mom doing it by yourself, working full time, and still managing to be supermom when you get home. All of your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed here. Keep up the great work, if no one is rooting for you I am.
Thank you again to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum all the mommies and their children had a blast.
If you haven’t already, make sure you visit the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, your child would love it. They’re opened from Tuesday to Sunday, you can receive more information, and plan your visit here.
Funfact: Did you know that the Brooklyn Children’s Museum is the first Children’s Museum in America? Some are even saying it’s the 1st in the world.
Another reason why the Brooklyn Children’s Museum should be on the list of places to take your child.
Have you ever been to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum? if so how was you experience?
Thank you to all of you supermoms who made it to this meet up, Love you guys.

Museum of the Moving Image
On Good Friday we managed to visit two museums, the Moma Ps1 which you can see here, and the Museum of the Moving Image.
This museum was much different from any other one I’ve been to. If you’re into the technology of films, movies, and digital film, this is the place for you.
Sekou was more into us than all of us.
Here are a few pictures we captured. [Read more…]
